About
Byte The Net was created for several reasons that came about as a result of my own experience on line. I consider myself a reasonably intelligent person who is able to grasp most concepts and learn processes. But some time — this stuff just isn’t making sense. It’s usually something simple that just won’t click. So after I’ve scoured the net, bought a book, or visited forums, I might finally get it, or not.
If that’s something you’ve experienced – feeling like a big ole’ dummy, or figuring that you were getting on others’ nerves (forum participants) with your unending questions, well then, Byte the Net is for you, because it’s for you that I started this site, because you’re like me; I could have used a place like this. A place for pups — you know…beginners, novices, reasonably intelligent people who just don’t get it.
This site is in rough draft stage, so it may be undergoing changes from time to time.
I have been fascinated by the internet ever since I learned how to work my way on the old AOL login.
Other reasons for starting Byte the Net:
I like WordPress. I’ve learned a lot about it. I have combed these web sites for answers to questions time and time again. I want to share what I’ve learned and hopefully let this be place where most of the answers you seek can be found. If you’re like me, you probably work on your site alone.
It’s ok to be a ‘noob.’ (that’s short for newbie which is short for new user) or a pup. You can come here and ask whatever you want, and I or someone else will try to answer you, or not. If your question can’t be answered, some resources can be found that will help. There’s no such thing as a dumb question. Not asking the question is dumb.
